On June 1, 2017, the General Assembly of Bio Development AG confirmed the new composition of the Board of Directors. Markus Lüthi, Dr. Marco Arduini and Fabio Brescacin remain members of the Board, whereas Markus Lüthi takes over the chairmanship. Yves Enderli officially resigned from the Board of Directors and from his position as Chairman, after having already passed his administrative duties to Markus Lüthi last year for health reasons.

With Georg Kaiser, Bio Development AG is gaining a board member with extensive experience both in the food trade and in the organic market. After having continued his parents’ food retail business for 8 years, he founded the BIO COMPANY in Berlin in 1999, now the market leader in Berlin and Brandenburg. Until 2017, Georg Kaiser was chairman of the board of the BNN (Federal Nature Conservation Association, Naturkost Naturwaren e.V.) and played a key role in the development of the valid BNN assortment directive.
Urs Neuenschwander is a member of the Executive Board at Energie Thun AG and has 28 years of experience in the Swiss energy sector. He has always been interested in the societal context as a whole and has placed the ethical responsibility above the technical processing of tasks. As co-owner and chairman of the management board (part-time job), Urs Neuenschwander together with the other owners and the sales team has further developed the OEKOLADEN Thun into an indispensable shopping experience in the old town of Thun.
Dr. phil Samuel Rom is a specialist psychologist and a graduate management coach. With him, Bio Development AG gains an impact- and value-oriented leader with strong analytical and communication skills. As a co-owner, Samuel Rom spent 33 years in building-up a unique company in the areas of health care, tourism and real estate with a continuous growth of 12 to more than 400 employees. The responsibility towards employees, the society, the environment and investors is at the core of his entrepreneurial activities. He is currently moving his areas of activity to a strategic level as well as to association, foundation and volunteer work.
